Just like any other leather item, leather collars and leashes require special care. Inadequate maintenance causes rapid wear and lowers the life of even the costliest collars, while with good care, your products will last longer and retain their outstanding quality.
Leather collars and leashes should not be exposed to moisture for lengthy periods of time.
Leather collars and leashes are not intended to be in touch with water for an extended period of time. It is advised that you remove your leather collar before taking your pet swimming. Nylon is more resistant to dampness.
For light-colored dogs, we recommend buying collars in softer hues to prevent unintentional hair dying.
Leather collars and leashes become soiled with time and must be washed on a regular basis.
* Use a damp cloth or vacuum cleaner to remove dust from your color or leash.
* Use a soft cloth to wipe your collar and leash dry after a walk in the rain or snow, and let them air dry at room temperature.
* To keep your pet safe from infections and keep dirt, dust, saliva, and grass away, wash your dog's muzzle under running water with a brush after each walk.
* Wash your collars and leashes under warm water using pet-safe glycerin soap.
* After washing, use a cloth to dry your collar and leash, then apply a leather care product. Do not dry in direct sunlight or near heating appliances.
* We recommend using specialized products protecting leather from dust and moisture. Do not use solutions containing benzine, acetone, as well as Vaseline or mineral oils. Choose lanolin or wax-based care products to make your collars and leashes soft, elastic, and long-lasting.
